ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wing foiling

Wing foiling is a type of watersport that uses a wing-shaped board, a kite, and a foil. The board has a special part called a foil, which is a curved metal like piece, that sticks out of the bottom. When you are on the board and the kite is up in the air, the air rushing over the foil creates lift which helps the board to lift off the water, just like an airplane lifts off the ground. As you move across the water, the wing helps to move you and the foil keeps you above the water. You can do different tricks and moves while wing foiling, such as going up and down, turning, and jumping. It’s like a combination between surfing and kitesurfing, but it’s different because most of the time you’re not actually touching the water.
