Winnow (algorithm)

Winnow is an algorithm that sorts through a large set of data and finds the best match. Think of it like panning for gold! With a pan, you dip it in water and shake it around so that the heavier pieces of gold stay at the bottom and the lighter pieces get washed away. Winnow works in a similar way! It looks through all of the pieces of data, which are like the pieces of rocks in the pan, and it looks for the best ones that match what you're looking for - the gold! It sorts through them quickly and efficiently so that you can find what you're looking for.
