Wishbone boom

Okay kiddo, so have you ever seen a crane before? It’s a big machine that helps lift heavy things. Well, sometimes when the crane needs to lift really heavy things, it uses something called a wishbone boom.

The wishbone boom is a special type of arm that looks like the wishbone from a turkey. You know how the turkey wishbone has two parts that come out from the middle, right? Well, the wishbone boom is also made up of two parts that come out from the middle and spread outwards.

One of the parts is called the main boom and the other is called the jib. They work together to lift heavy objects. The main boom is the part that extends out from the crane and the jib is the smaller arm that attaches to the end of the main boom.

When the crane needs to lift something really heavy, it uses the wishbone boom to help balance the weight. It’s kind of like how you use your two hands to hold something big and heavy, instead of trying to hold it with just one hand.

So, that’s what a wishbone boom is, it’s a special part of a crane that can help lift really heavy things by spreading out into two parts just like a turkey wishbone.
