Women's suffrage in India

Women's suffrage in India is the right for women to vote in India. In other words, it means that women can have a say in deciding who will be elected as the leader of their country. India was one of the first countries to give women the right to vote, in 1950. That means that more than 70 years ago, the government said that women should be allowed to vote, just like men. This was a really important step to making sure that women were respected and taken seriously in India. Giving women the right to vote also means that politicians now have to make sure they are representing women's interests and needs in their decisions and policies. This is why it is so important for women to make their voices heard in elections, because it helps to make sure that the leaders of India represent everyone equally.
