WordNet is like a big dictionary made up of a bunch of smaller dictionaries called synonyms sets. For example, if you look up the word "tree" in WordNet, you'll find lots of different words that mean the same thing like "pine," "evergreen," "oak," and "maple." WordNet also includes definitions for each synonym set, so you can easily learn what each word means. WordNet is used by computer scientists to help them make programs that help us understand language better.
