ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Working drawing

Alright kiddo, have you ever drawn a picture of something you wanted to make, like a race car or a fort made out of pillows? That's kind of what a working drawing is, except it's a really detailed picture of something that somebody wants to build or make in real life, like a house or a bridge.

But it's not just any old picture - it has to be drawn super carefully and accurately, so that the people who are actually going to build the thing can understand exactly what it's supposed to look like and how it's supposed to work. That means they need to show things like measurements, materials, and how all the different parts fit together.

So it's kind of like making a blueprint for your pillow fort - you would draw out exactly how many pillows you need, where they should be placed, and how you would attach them together, so that your friends can help you build it exactly the way you want it.

Overall, working drawings are really important for making sure that the things we build are safe, sturdy, and work exactly the way they're supposed to.
