Wound

Oh sweetie, have you ever fallen down and scraped your knee? That's called a wound. A wound is when you get hurt and your skin breaks open. When that happens, it hurts because your body's way of telling you that something is wrong.

Now, when you get a wound, your body starts to work really hard to fix it. Your body sends special cells to the wound that start to clean it up and form a scab. You know how when you scrape your knee, it gets all red and starts to bleed? That's your body's way of cleaning out the wound.

After a few days, the scab will start to harden and you'll notice that the wound isn't as painful anymore. That's because your body has formed new skin underneath the scab. This new skin helps to protect the wound and keeps it from getting infected.

Sometimes, wounds can take a little longer to heal. If you get a really big wound, like a cut that requires stitches, your body may take a few weeks to heal it completely. But don't worry, your body is really good at fixing itself, and before you know it, your wound will be all healed up!
