Xinjiang

Xinjiang is a province in China. It has beautiful mountains, deserts and rivers. In Xinjiang, there are people from many different countries, cultures and religions. Most of the people who live in Xinjiang are from the Uyghur ethnic group. The Uyghurs are a Muslim group that have their own unique language and culture. In recent years, the Chinese government has cracked down on the Uyghur people by sending people to camps, arresting people for being Muslim, and taking away rights. They have done this in an effort to increase control and force the Uyghur people to be more like the Chinese majority. This has caused a lot of suffering for the Uyghurs, who have been denied access to their own culture and religion.
