ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Yom HaShoah

Yom HaShoah is a special day that we celebrate every year to remember and honor the millions of Jewish people who died during a really bad time called the Holocaust.

During the Holocaust, many Jews were treated very badly and even killed just because they were Jewish. This was a very sad and scary time in history, and we want to make sure that we never forget what happened and always remember the people who died.

So, on Yom HaShoah, we take time to think about these terrible events and show our respect for those who were affected by it all. We might have special ceremonies or light candles to remember the Jewish people who died. It's important for us to learn about the past so that we can better understand and prevent things like this from happening in the future.
