Yotsuya Kaidan is a famous ghost story from Japan that was written a long time ago. Imagine a spooky story that people used to tell around a campfire or when they were trying to scare each other.

The story is about a woman named Oiwa who got married to a man named Iemon. Sadly, their marriage was not a happy one. Iemon was not faithful to Oiwa and he was actually in love with another woman.

Oiwa was so heartbroken and angry that her ghost came back to haunt Iemon. Everywhere he went, he saw visions of her disfigured face and heard her ghostly voice calling out for revenge.

Even when Iemon got remarried to his new love, Oiwa's ghost did not stop haunting him. Eventually, he went crazy and ended up killing himself.

The story of Yotsuya Kaidan has been retold many times over the years and continues to be a popular ghost story in Japan. It is a cautionary tale about the terrible things that can happen when people cheat and lie to each other.
