Many, many years ago, there was a huge flood that happened in China and it was so strong that it washed away everything in its path, including people's homes and crops. Yu the Great was chosen by the ruler to find a way to stop the flood and save everyone.

To fix the problem, Yu the Great and his team worked for many years to build channels and canals that could carry some of the water and let it flow away safely. They also dug deep into the ground to try to redirect the water into different rivers and channels. People tell stories about him even today to teach children about the importance of hard work and helping others in times of need.
