ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Zaza Kurds

Zaza Kurds are a group of people who live in parts of Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. They speak their own language called Zaza, which is similar to Kurdish but also has some differences. They have their own traditions, culture, and way of life just like other Kurds.

Think of it like this: Imagine you have a group of friends who like to play games together. Some of your friends speak English, while others speak Spanish or French. They all like to have fun and play games, but they might use different words or rules depending on their language. Similarly, Zaza Kurds are like a group of friends who have their own language but share many similarities with other Kurds.

Despite facing discrimination and oppression in some areas, Zaza Kurds have a strong sense of identity and are proud of their heritage. They continue to celebrate their traditions and language, and work towards greater recognition and rights within their countries.
