Zombie (computer science)

In computer science, a zombie is a computer connected to the internet that has been infected by malicious software, also known as malware. The malware takes control of the computer and uses it to do things without the owner's permission, like sending spam emails, stealing data, or launching attacks against other computers. They are called zombies because they are controlled by the malicious software, instead of the owner.
