ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

national competitiveness council

Imagine you are playing a game with your friends, and you want to win. But, you also want everyone to have fun and be happy. That's where the National Competitiveness Council comes in.

The National Competitiveness Council is like a coach for our country. They help us understand the game we are playing together with all the other countries in the world. They tell us which areas we are good at and which ones we need to improve so we can be better players and stay ahead of our competition.

They look at things like how well our businesses are doing, how easy it is to start a business, how good our roads and bridges are, how well-educated our people are, and many other things. They use this information to give us tips and advice on how we can become more competitive.

For example, they might say that we need to invest more in education to make sure our people have the skills they need to succeed in a global economy. Or, they might suggest that we improve our transportation systems so that goods can be easily transported around the country and the world.

Their job is to help us win the game, but also to make sure we are all having fun and working together to make our country the best it can be.
