ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Biocultural evolution

Biocultural evolution is when biology (all living things) and culture (shared behaviours, beliefs, and traditions) influence each other. Over time, this influence can lead to the development of new things and changes in both biology and culture. For example, a group of people who live near the ocean may start to eat a lot of seafood, over time this could lead to their bodies becoming better at digesting seafood more easily. At the same time, their culture could also change - they might develop new ways of cooking, or develop new beliefs and traditions related to seafood. So, over time, both their biology and culture have changed and adapted together.
