ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Diolkos

The Diolkos was an ancient stone trackway built in Greece over 2,000 years ago. It was a path of stone slabs that boats could use to get from one body of water to another. The trackway was carved into a mountain and had a slope, so when the boats were pushed up or down the path they could move easily. To get the boats across bodies of water, they would be pushed onto wagons which were then pulled by horses and other animals. This transportation system was used to move things like food and supplies around the area.
