Dual inheritance theory

Dual inheritance theory is a theory about how children learn and develop. It says that something called genes, which are like instructions inside our cells, and something called culture, which is something all of us learn from our families and societies, both impact the way children learn and develop. It's like two types of instructions that both have an effect on us and shape who we become.
