Hemolysin

Hemolysin is a protein made by some kinds of bacteria. This protein is made to help the bacteria to break down red blood cells. When the red blood cells are broken down, the hemolysin is released into the body and can cause damage to your body or make you sick with a short-term infection. It can also cause a long-term, or chronic, disease if you are exposed to it over a long period of time.
