ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Historical revisionism

Historical revisionism is when people change or look at history differently than it was originally written. It helps us understand why things happened in the past and explain why things are the way they are today. For example, someone might look at an important moment in history and say that it really happened in a different way, or for different reasons, than what was originally taught. All of us have different ideas about the past, and historical revisionism helps us look at and understand this different view.
