Holocaust (sacrifice)

The Holocaust was a very sad and terrible event that happened during World War II. Many innocent people, mostly Jewish people, were treated very poorly and unfairly by a group of powerful people in Germany called the Nazis. They were taken from their homes and sent to special camps where they were treated very badly and some were even killed. This was very wrong and hurt a lot of people and their families. The word "holocaust" means a big sacrifice or destruction, but this was a very bad kind of sacrifice that hurt a lot of people. It is important to remember what happened during the Holocaust so we can make sure it never happens again.
