Neoplatonism

Neoplatonism is a philosophy that was developed in the third century A.D. by a man named Plotinus. Neoplatonism is based on the idea that there is an ultimate reality and all other things exist because of it. This ultimate reality is often compared to a big ball of light that is perfect and good. Everything else in the universe is just an imperfect reflection of this perfect, good light. The goal of the Neoplatonist is to become closer to this ultimate reality, so they can understand and experience it fully.
