ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Panning (camera)

Hello little one! Have you ever played with a camera before? Panning is like when you move the camera from side to side when taking a video or picture.

Let's pretend you're watching a bike race and you want to take a video of one of the bikers as they zoom past you. Instead of standing still and just pointing the camera at them, you can turn the camera to follow the biker as they move across your field of view. This is called panning!

Now, when you're panning, it's important to keep the camera steady so your video or picture doesn't come out shaky. You might need to practice a little bit to get the hang of it.

Panning can be a really cool effect to use in pictures and videos, because it makes the action look more dynamic and creates a sense of movement. So next time you're taking pictures or videos of something exciting, think about trying out panning!
