ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Passage tomb

A passage tomb is like a big underground room made by people long, long ago. It's like a special type of house where dead people were buried.

First, people gathered big stones and placed them in a circle outside to make a special place. Then, they dug deep into the ground, making a big hole. They moved more stones to cover the hole, making a roof.

But how did people get inside? They put a long, narrow hall going through the circle of stones and into the tomb. This hall is called the passage.

People would bring the bodies of their loved ones inside through the passage and place them in special spots called burial chambers.

It's like a secret, special place where people who have died are honored and remembered.
