Ćevapčići

Ćevapčići are yummy pieces of food that come from the Balkan region, which is in Europe! They look like small sausages because they are long and skinny, but they don't have any skin on them. They are made with yummy ingredients like meat, usually beef or lamb, and spices like paprika and cumin.

To make ćevapčići, first someone mixes the meat and spices together in a big bowl. Then, they shape the mixture into little sausage shapes, like long thick Hershey's Kisses, but without the pointy end. Finally, they cook them on a grill or in a frying pan until they are brown and crispy on the outside but still yummy and juicy on the inside.

Ćevapčići are usually served with special bread called lepinja, which is soft and fluffy and perfect for wrapping around the ćevapčići like a cozy blanket. Along with the bread, people usually add some veggies like onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and sometimes a special sauce made of yogurt and garlic called ajvar. When you take a big bite of the ćevapčići and all the yummy flavors mix together in your mouth, it will feel like a party!
