Şekerpare

Şekerpare is a very yummy sweet cookie that is very popular in Turkey. It is made from a special dough mixture that has flour, sugar, and butter, and it is shaped into small round balls. Then, they are baked in an oven until they become golden brown.

But the most important part of şekerpare is the sweet syrup that is poured over the cookies after they are baked. This syrup is made from sugar, water, lemon juice, and a bit of orange blossom water. It is heated up until it becomes thick and sticky, and then it is poured over the cookies while they are still hot. The cookies soak up the syrup and become very sweet and moist.

Finally, before serving, each şekerpare is usually sprinkled with some chopped almonds or coconut flakes. This adds a nice crunchy texture to the soft and sweet cookies. Şekerpare is a wonderful treat to have with tea or coffee, and it is perfect for special occasions or just when you want to treat yourself to something yummy.
