ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

2 Kings 10

Okay kiddo, in this story about 2 Kings 10, there was a ruler named King Joram who wasn't being a good king. His people were unhappy, and they wanted him gone. Along came a guy named Jehu, who was a military leader and also a prophet. He wanted to overthrow King Joram and take his place as king.

So Jehu came up with a plan. He sent a message to Joram, telling him to come out and meet him on the battlefield. When Joram got there, Jehu killed him with an arrow. Then Jehu went to the city where Joram's family members were living and killed them too, so there would be no more heirs to the throne.

But that wasn't enough for Jehu. He wanted to wipe out all of Joram's supporters as well, so he invited all of them to come to a big meeting. At the meeting, Jehu had all of Joram's supporters killed too. He even tricked some of them by telling them that he was going to make peace with them, and then he killed them when they were off guard.

So basically, Jehu killed a lot of people in this story. Some people might say that he did it to bring about justice and make the kingdom a better place, but others might say that his methods were cruel and unjust. It's up to you to decide what you think about Jehu's actions in this story.
