ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

2013 Kabaddi World Cup

Alright, kiddo, so imagine a game where players have to tag each other while holding their breath and chanting "kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi" over and over again. That's exactly what kabaddi is!

Now, every four years, teams from different countries come together to play in the Kabaddi World Cup, kind of like how you have soccer or basketball World Cups. The 2013 Kabaddi World Cup was one such tournament that took place in India.

Teams from countries like India, Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Canada, and the United States participated in the tournament. They played against each other in matches that were divided into two halves, each lasting 20 minutes. The team that scored the most points at the end of the match won.

But here's the twist, kiddo. In kabaddi, players have to keep touching someone from the opposite team or keep crossing over to their side until they manage to tag them and come back to their own side. If they get caught or run out of breath before they can make it back, they lose points for their team.

It's a super exciting game to watch and requires a lot of strategy and quick thinking from the players. In the end, India emerged as the champions of the 2013 Kabaddi World Cup after beating Pakistan in the final.
