AACS encryption key controversy

AACS encryption key controversy is a situation where people got access to the encryption key used to protect DVDs and other types of digital content. This encryption key was made to keep people from being able to make copies of the content, but someone got a hold of it and shared it with the public. This made it easier to make copies of the protected content, and some companies that owned the content weren't happy because they wanted people to have to buy the content instead of copying it illegally.
