AHTCC stands for the American Human Trafficking and Consumer Crimes Commission. It is made up of people from the government, nonprofits, businesses, survivors of human trafficking, universities and other experts who work together to try and fight human trafficking. Human trafficking is when people are bought and sold as slaves. People can be sold or forced to work in factories, on farms, in their homes, or even in prostitution. The commission works to identify ways to stop this kind of crime and to pass laws and policies to keep people safe. They also provide resources and awareness campaigns to help educate people about this crime.
