Abandoned mine

An abandoned mine is like a really big, dark hole in the ground where people used to take out valuable things like gold, silver, or coal. But now nobody goes there anymore and it just sits there all alone. It's not safe for people to go inside because there might be rocks or other things that could fall on them, or the air might not be good to breathe. Sometimes animals might go inside and get stuck, and that's not good for them either. We have to be careful around abandoned mines and stay away from them.
