Abhidharma is an ancient Buddhist teaching about the workings of the mind. It helps us understand our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors better, so we can better understand why we do what we do. Abhidharma teaches that our minds are made up of five "skandhas" or elements: form, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness. Learning about these five skandhas can help us to be more aware of our thoughts and feelings, and make better choices in our lives. It teaches us that we are responsible for creating our own happiness and suffering and that we can take steps to change our mental state. Abhidharma can help us become kinder, more compassionate people and live a more peaceful life.
