Okay, kiddo! So abstinence-only sex education means that when grown-ups talk to young people in Uganda about sex, they only talk about waiting until marriage to have sex. They might say things like "abstain" or "stay pure" instead of using more complicated words like "wait" or "don't have sex."
Some people in Uganda believe that teaching kids about contraception or safe sex actually encourages them to have sex, so they think it's better to only talk about waiting until marriage. But not everybody agrees with this, and some people think that it's important for young people to know how to protect themselves from STDs and unwanted pregnancy even if they aren't having sex.
What do you think, kiddo? Do you see why some people might think one way or the other?
