Acceptance and commitment therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a kind of therapy that helps people learn how to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings in their lives. Instead of trying to get rid of the the bad thoughts or feelings, the therapist helps the person to accept them, and then take action to make changes that are helpful. The goal is to help them take action towards things that are meaningful or important to them, even if it is hard to do or if it involves facing difficult thoughts or feelings. By doing this, the person can become more flexible and better able to cope with life's challenges.
