ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Acclamation

Okay kiddo, so have you ever been to a big sports game or concert and everyone starts clapping and cheering really loudly for the player or singer? That's called acclamation!

When people acc[l]aim someone or something, they are showing that they really like them and respect them. It's like giving them a big round of applause to show your appreciation for what they've done.

Sometimes, the crowd might even chant a person's name or sing a song to show how much they like them. It's kind of like saying "you're awesome" without actually saying it out loud.

Acclamation can happen in all kinds of places, like at school when a teacher gives a great lesson, or at a birthday party when everyone sings "Happy Birthday" to the birthday boy or girl. It's a way to let people know that they're doing a great job and that you're proud of them!
