ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Adultism

Adultism is a way of thinking that adults are better than young people, so they should have more control over them. It happens when adults treat children and teenagers differently from adults, like expecting them to do less or give them fewer opportunities than adults. For example, a teacher may expect less from their teenage students than from the adults in their class. This can make it hard for young people to have their voices heard and make decisions for themselves.
