ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aerosol

Aerosol is like the "breath" of a can of hairspray or spray paint.

When you press the button on a can of aerosol, it makes the product inside the can come out in tiny droplets that are suspended in the air.

Imagine you have a spray bottle of water, and you spray it into the air. The little droplets that come out make up an aerosol.

But not all aerosols are the same. Some can be harmful if you breathe them in because they contain chemicals or particles that can damage your lungs or make you sick. That’s why it’s important to use aerosol products safely and only in well-ventilated areas.

So, next time you use a can that sprays things out in little droplets, make sure to be safe and use it in a big space with lots of air.
