The African Diaspora in the Americas is when people of African descent, or whose ancestors are from Africa, are living in countries in the Americas, such as Brazil, the United States, Canada, and Haiti. The African Diaspora is part of the story of the slaves who were taken from Africa during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and brought to the Americas to work on plantations and farms. Through time, descendants of these Africans have spread across the Americas and created communities like the Little Haiti neighborhood in Miami, Florida.
