Agricultural wastewater treatment is when you clean wastewater (water that has been used and is dirty) from farming and agricultural activities. This is done by taking the dirty water and filtering it through something like a sieve or screens, to remove any large pieces like soil, stones and other solids. At the same time, chemicals or microorganisms can be added to the water to help break down, settle and remove any particles, bacteria and other contaminants. Finally, the water is sterilized, usually by adding chlorine or ultraviolet light, to make sure all bacteria and germs are removed. The water that comes out after the treatments is usually much cleaner and safer to use.
