ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ahom script

Ahom script is a special way of writing words and sentences in a language called Ahom, which is spoken in parts of India. Just like how we learn to write letters and words in school, people who speak Ahom also learn to write using this special script.

Ahom script has its own set of unique characters that represent different sounds in the Ahom language. These characters are combined together to form words and sentences, just like how we combine letters to form words.

For example, let's say we want to write "hello" in Ahom. In Ahom script, we would use the characters: "ꝼ", "ꞇ", "꞊", "ꞃ", and "Ꞇ". When put together in the right order, they would form the word "ꝼꞇ꞊ꞃꞆ", which means "hello" in Ahom.

People who can read and write in Ahom script can easily understand written messages in Ahom language. It's important to keep this script alive so that the language and culture can continue to thrive for future generations.
