Allegory

An allegory is a type of story that has characters or symbols that stand for something else. It often has a lesson to teach, or a moral. For example, in the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, the Tortoise stands for being patient, and the Hare stands for being overconfident. The story teaches us that it's better to be patient and take your time.
