Semiotics

Semiotics is the study of signs. Signs are things we use to communicate with each other. An example of a sign is an emoji, which many of us use when texting messages. By using these signs, we can tell a story or give information. In semiotics, we take a closer look at how these signs are made up, how we interpret them and what they mean. We also look at why people use a certain sign in particular, and why some signs can be used to express different ideas or messages. Semiotics is a way of understanding how communication works, and how people understand each other using signs.
