Almost complex manifold

Almost complex manifolds are like shapes made up of many different parts. For example, you could have a big jigsaw puzzle that is made out of a lot of small pieces. Each of the pieces has two parts: it can twist one way and it can twist the other way. An almost complex manifold is like that puzzle in the sense that the pieces can twist in two different directions.
