Amazonite

Amazonite is a pretty green rock that you can find in the Earth. It is named after the Amazon River, where people thought it was originally found, but actually it is found in many other places too.

The green color of amazonite comes from a mineral called feldspar that is found in the rock. This mineral has a really special way of absorbing and reflecting light, which makes it look green.

People have been using amazonite for a long time to make jewelry and decorative objects because it is so pretty. It is also thought to have some special properties, such as helping people feel more calm and relaxed.

If you ever see a piece of amazonite, you can admire its beautiful green color and maybe even wear it as a piece of jewelry yourself! Just be sure to ask an adult for help if you want to buy or touch it.
