American Fur Company
So, there was this company a long time ago called the American Fur Company. They were in the business of selling fur, which is the soft, fluffy stuff that covers animals like rabbits, foxes, and beavers.
The American Fur Company would send people called trappers out into the wilderness to catch these animals and bring back their fur. They would then process the fur to make it soft and ready to be made into things like hats, coats, and blankets.
The company was really successful for a while because fur was really popular and people were willing to pay a lot of money for it. But eventually, people started to realize that it was mean to kill all these animals just for their fur, and they started to buy less and less of it.
So, the American Fur Company started to struggle and eventually went out of business. Nowadays, people still wear fur sometimes, but it's not as popular as it used to be.
