Ancient Near Eastern Texts Relating to the Old Testament

The Old Testament is a part of the Bible that is made up of stories about important people from a long time ago. Ancient Near Eastern texts are like books from the same time with stories that are similar to the Old Testament. For example, the Old Testament tells stories about the flood, but so do Near Eastern texts. The stories might be the same, but they were written down in different books!
