Anglo-Saxon polytheism

Anglo-Saxon polytheism means that the people who lived in England a long time ago believed in more than one god. They believed that different gods controlled different things like the sun and the moon. They would do special things like rituals to try and make the gods happy and protect them from bad things happening. They also believed that they needed to respect nature because the gods were part of it. The Anglo-Saxon gods had different names and were very important to the people because they believed that the gods helped them in their daily lives and kept them safe.
