Okay kiddo, so in Cameroon there are a bunch of different groups of people who speak different languages. Some people speak French and some people speak English.
Anglophone Cameroonians are people who live in the part of Cameroon where English is the main language they speak and understand. They are called "Anglophone" because "anglo" means English and "phone" means speaker of a language.
Sometimes, Anglophone Cameroonians feel like they are not being treated fairly by the government and the leaders of the country. They feel like they are not being given the same opportunities as the people who speak French, and that their culture and values are not being respected.
So, they have been protesting and asking for their rights to be recognized and respected. Some people even want their own separate country where they can speak English and have their own government that understands and represents them better.
It's kind of like when you and your sibling both want the last cookie, and you feel like your sibling is always getting more attention and treats than you are, and you're tired of it. But instead of just arguing, you're speaking up for what you believe is fair and asking to be heard.
