Animals in space

Animals in space are special animals that travel in a spaceship to go to outer space. Scientists put animals in special spaceships and send them very far away, outside of the Earth's atmosphere. They do this to learn about living things in space, like how animals can survive without the air, food, and gravity on Earth. Animal astronauts have been sent to space from dogs to bugs in order to help us learn more about space.
