Okay kiddo, so do you know what animation is? It's when pictures or drawings change really fast to make it look like they're moving.
Now, back in the old days, people used to make animation by drawing each picture by hand! Can you imagine doing that for a whole TV show? It took a really long time and cost a lot of money.
But in the 1950s, television became really popular in the United States. That meant that people could watch shows at home, without having to go to the movie theater.
So, people started making animation for TV shows! But they had to find a faster and cheaper way to make it. That's when they came up with something called "limited animation."
Limited animation means that instead of drawing every single picture, animators only draw the important parts of the picture. Then, the rest of the picture just stays the same while the important part moves.
This made it much faster and cheaper to make TV shows. Plus, TV shows didn't need to be as high quality as movies, because people watched them on smaller screens at home.
Nowadays, people still use limited animation to make TV shows. And because of technology, they can even do it on computers!
