ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Annealing by short circuit

Okay kiddo, do you know what metal is? It's this shiny thing that we use to make lots of things like toys, cars, and even buildings! But sometimes, when we make things out of metal, it can become a little weak or not as strong as we need it to be.

That's where annealing comes in. It's like a magic trick that makes metal stronger! Short circuit annealing is a special type of annealing where we use something called a short circuit.

So imagine you have a piece of metal that needs to be stronger. We first heat up the metal, and then we put a little bit of pressure on it by making the metal touch another object. This makes a little "short circuit" happen.

This "short circuit" causes a really high amount of heat and pressure to happen in just one spot on the metal. This heat and pressure make the metal's atoms move around and become all nice and organized. This makes the metal stronger and more durable!

So now, we have a super strong piece of metal that can be used for all kinds of things. It's like magic, right?
